Riley on Crime in Cabarrus County.mov
Anyone who hasn’t seen the informative youtube video just released by Sheriff D. Brad Riley should make every attempt to watch it. It is truly inspirational. First, he points out that it is important for citizens to know that last year violent crime was down 36% and property crime down 12%. It is typical that a politician tells you want ‘he wants you to know’, rather than ‘what you want to know’. Why are you telling us now? Oh wait, yes now I remember, the election is less than two weeks away. Could it be because your job is on the line? Yes, it’s coming back to me now. Why are people thinking a whole lot worse than they thought before? Who are you speaking for? Is this to scare us? You, Sheriff seem to be the desperate one. Your deputies are pushing the envelope? Yes, I have read all the comments. They push the envelope after licking the stamp. So property crime has decreased by 12%? Where do you get your ‘gambit’ numbers? We are glad you are satisfied with your department’s accomplishments. However, I would like to point out that their job ‘is’ to patrol and be seen. I wonder if the citizens are satisfied with the services ‘you’ provide. The deputies should be visible. It does deter crime. But why are you not visible sir? So you want to communicate with the citizens now? What storm are you referring to? The election storm? The one sweeping you off of your feet? Yes, quite the storm indeed. You suggest we keep the community intact? So if you are voted out are you suggesting that we are losing our community? Our community is more than you Sheriff Riley. You obviously think highly of yourself. You are right however. This is an important time. That is precisely what I have been saying for the past few months. Why is this not the time to change horses in the middle of the stream? Thoroughbreds can swim. However, donkeys will not cross! So the worst thing you can say about David Graham is that he is retired? Thanks for going easy on him. But I dare say, I don’t think he will be retired much longer. Why is your time now? Because you are in the middle of it? Yes, you very well may come up short, thanks to Sheriff Canaday. If only he would have retired a little sooner.

I am fully aware that both Brad and Cindy read this, as I have seen them do it. So I question to why Cindy Riley stays with Brad Riley, and if he looses this election will you leave him? Brad you crossed the Christian line by doing that to Cindy, and Cindy is a DAMN GOOD WOMAN....that you have brain washed...
I hope you pay for what you have done Brad. You are not a Christian man and you will spend eternity in Hell, but I know you are not bothered by that since the devil resides in your soul....

He sure seemed nervous in the video. He should have rehearsed it several times to get all the stuttering out. It was only 2 minutes. Write it out and read it. Not impressive at all. If crime is down, why are we just now hearing about it? Why have the actual numbers not been posted somewhere? How do we know the percentages are real. Too many questions.

ReplyDeleteHe is roughly 5 percent behind riley with 20 percent undecided. And as long as the democrats across the nation continue to waste our tax dollars that undecided might swing Graham's way to victory. It is so easy to see through Riley. His only support comes from people he grew up with that like to "hang out" with the guy. We need a Sheriff, not a party animal in office!!!!

ReplyDeleteWHY NOW when your web site still shows 2002 data. Violent crime is down but you have allowed a murder in Harrisburg to go cold. You trash Charlotte but you asked for their help. You report crime is down but isn’t it true it just under reported? Deputies refuse to take reports, classifications are lowered and the public never knows.
WHY NOW, if crime is down then why is your jail busting at the seams. I know nothing about policing but it seems like we are being mislead.

ReplyDeleteThe main reason Riley pulled the plug on the video is NC law. It's illegal to use government property for partisan politics in North Carolina. He shot the video in his office at the Sheriff's Office. He's finally catching on that he might not above the law anymore and do as he pleases with no consequences. People are starting to call him out.

He has started a reform for our Animal Control which Riley has been qouted in the paper as saying nothing is wrong with Animal Control. However, we are light years behind everybody else when it comes to ACU, and Graham spotted this two years ago...JFB was the breaking point. And finally someone caught Riley's worthless supporters vandalizing signs....idoits. You are all idiots...When Brad wins this election, which I think he will...the nightmare will just be beginning. For his sake I would think that he is hoping to loose.

ReplyDeleteI have known the Riley's for years. I have heard many things about him the last few years. I honestly think they are true based on some facts that I know about. I think he is lying to Cindy or she chooses to overlook it for the sake of her family and his job. He has changed since he became sheriff and not to the good. His character has been attacked, he does not defend himself and that is hurting him badly. Brad, you better wake up.....there are many friends, co workers, etc that plan to vote for David Graham because you will not address the issues that have been said about you. You think you have their votes but you don't. People are just keeping their mouths shut but when we get behind that curtain, we will be voting for your opponent rather than you because of your silence.

ReplyDeleteThe video was of him staring at the ground talking about how crime is down. However, if you are aware of what goes on at the department everyone knows that 12 months or so before election Riley makes sure crime goes down, especially the month before. Have you not notice that there are not as many deputies out pulling people over. Riley does not want to anger the community before election so he lets criminals do as please. Rodney Monroe pulled the same stunt when he first arrived in Charlotte. The downside to doing this is eventually the false sense of crime being down is going to turn around when the election is over, and crime will shoot right back up. Crime is never down or up...its just the amount of arrest being made. This is a tatic used by Chiefs and Sheriffs all over the nation.
ReplyDeleteHe also made sure to mention that Graham was retired from Mecklenburg, saying that is where he did his time. Which is obviously true. And was a nice gesture of Riley to say that. Riley is not as bad as of man as everyone thinks. However he did have an affair, has wasted a lot of tax payers money and most of the deputies hate him. But outside of work he is great to hang out with, a real funny guy actually as long as you are not the one he is clowning on. But the downside to mentioning that Graham is retired from Mecklenburg is that he basically was saying that Graham has 10 years of experience on him and Graham has never been a politician before...Riley has 10 years experience of policing and 10 years of politics.
Also Cabarrus County has never been recognized nationally like Charlotte was up until Rodney Monroe came to town. Charlotte was actually regarded as a role model for other police forces across the nation and world. A lot of european forces would visit Charlotte to learn more about safe policing...that has all gone down the drain with Monroe though. Why has Cabarrus never been recognized? Because in the last 50 years the position of Sheriff was handed down from one politician to another. Roberts, Canaday, and Riley....
Please be an informed voter. I love to hang out with Riley when I can find time to and still plan on doing it when I can. But he is not the man for the job....
