It blows my mind. Sheriff D. Brad Riley can do no wrong with his supporters. Literally, if we were to find out that the good sheriff killed someone, his supporters would still make excuses and find a way to justify it. How can this be? I believe it has to do with a feeling of importance in an otherwise boring or underachieving life. Quite possibly even a feeling of ‘does my life have meaning?” To be associated with Lindsay Lohan, with many, would still be an association. It equals a feeling of importance. How pathetic is that? Would you Riley supporters be proud of your children if they lied, cheated, stole and destroyed? Why else would former Sheriff Robert Canaday say “Thanks to all for supporting Sheriff Brad Riley. Please get as many as you can to go Vote on Nov. 2. I would be a shame to let such a fine law enforcement professional get away from us. We need him right here in Cabarrus County”. If Robert Canaday were so concerned for Cabarrus County he would be making these comments about David Graham. I have given it much thought. Do you know why Canaday can’t let it go? Because to do so would be to admit that he was wrong. If be didn’t stubbornly march forward against reasoning and right it would be to admit that his life’s work may be forgotten that much sooner. Did Lenin really want to go with Stalin? No! But to change “horses” at this stage of the game would be reversing his genius foresight for the future. Aww, but the Soviet Union did collapse.
What does it say to Cabarrus County voter’s that Sheriff D. Brad Riley’s trusted retired Captain Tommy Furr is out destroying David Graham’s signs? Riley first said he did not know that man in the picture. Of course, most people immediately identified the man. I find it interesting that you can go to Riley’s facebook page and so many of his followers make excuses for it. They even try to throw the focus back at Graham, a man who is clearly taking the high road. What great lengths his followers will go to. It was important enough for 36 News to cover it. But of course the Riley supporters are not so interested. Riley supporters will make every excuse to deny the truth. This is the same reason why the United States can not reason with Ahmadinejad. He can’t even admit that the holocaust happened. You know he knows it happened. But he will never give us the satisfaction of admitting it. To do so would mean to let go of his hatred and stubbornness. If he saw an American flag, he would tear it down and destroy it. And if he were caught on camera he would swear it was the wind.
We are dealing with an immature, childish, spoiled sheriff’s office. One unable to combat the problems of the 21st century. The good ol’ boy system has gone on long enough. It is time to hold an office accountable. Roberts to Canaday, Canaday to Riley. What did he do to earn it? I still have not heard. Stop this corrupt administration dead in its tracks. What more proof do you need then Tommy Furr destroying signs? Shouldn’t this give all of us an idea of what the future holds under Riley’s reign?

I would expect anyone with an ounce of integrity to use this opportunity with the media to announce that he does not condone an illegal act done on his behalf. It was as simple as that. If he had nothing to do with it or wasn't trying to cover up for a man who publicly endorsed him in a newspaper ad last week, he would have distanced himself from this alleged criminal.

He said the same same on news14 about the cat incident with Animal Services a few months ago.
I doubt that anyone will find some hidden memo from Brad Riley to his former deputies and Captains instructing them to damage and remove David Graham signs. But unfortunately that is what it would take for some of his supporters to believe that he had anything to do with this.
I have been hearing for calls of proof from his supporters on this blog. Here is your proof. What do you have to say now?

Like he has already been talking to Furr. Furr always tried to be Riley's backbone. Ask any deputy and they will tell you the truth about Furr. Furr is a true chickenshit bully with a big mouth. Not the touch guy fighting machine he use to be. Now he low crawls to tear up signs. I surprise he wasn't wearing all black being the big bad SRT guy that he is. Riley is too scared to do anything even if he wanted to.

So if you are involved in criminal activity you will be a goner. Graham has already publicly stated that if he wins and runs for re-election and you are caught tearing down David Graham's opponents signs...he will personally arrest you...not reward you like Riley does...

Are you lying to yourself or the citizens? This is the first that anyone has heard you say anything about your campaign signs being destroyed or stolen. Did you strategically wait until David Graham came forward to stake your claim? Doubtful. And what makes your people your people? Of course your supporters would not damage your signs. ReplyDeleteHey, make sure Ric and Graham are well aware that the jail can not be staffed until these economical times pick up. The county has never had a lay off..., sign of the times. Riley has planned staffing for the jail, ever since it has been in the process of being built. Plus they do not have letter of occ. He is very lucky he did not have lay offs. It is a temp situation. Do your homework smart one! Sheriff provides the need, commissioners make building decisions. Sheriff is in the policing business, not in the building industry nor is it his job to be! Do your home work, know it all!!!

Riley did botch the jail. If money is so important to him then why was he wasting our tax dollars about 6 years ago when he would have deputies drive him around in county cars on duty to hook up with Crystal Platt....He has tried saying that this was before his marriage and that did not work. So he then tries to say it was before he became Sheriff? And so now its ok? Riley is a joke, his masters is a joke, and his ability to run the department is a joke. It is sad when well over 50 percent of the department is pulling for the other guy but they are all aware of what will happen if they make it public....they will be fired...

ReplyDeleteI believe that Mr. Graham's point was that he wouldn't take funds from or allow campaigning by members of the department under his supervision. He is no longer an employee of CMPD. However, he has the respect of all who have worked for and with him and that is why they support him now. I think this is a great policy. I have personally worked on the campaigns of the last two sheriffs, and it was definitely "strongly suggested" that all employees attend and campaign.
ReplyDeleteVoting for a change in sheriff would be justified just for the many professional reasons that have come to surface. David has the background, education, training, and enthusiasm that we need to lead this department into the future. The sheriff's office needs to start with a clean slate, where no one get promoted or a raise unless they truly earn it, instead of just being a pal of the sheriff.
Deputies, please stop misinforming the public that you will lose your job if Brad loses...it is grossly untrue. You mislead them into giving their vote just out of concern for your livelihood. Be straight with them or shut up. Mr Graham has repeatedly stated that he will not make any personnel changes right at the start. Any changes would be made after a lengthy performance evaluation and an opportunity to improve. If you are a preofessional and you do your job and stop all the grab-assing, you have nothing to worry about. But if you are one of the many who just do enough to get by and lack professionalism and integrity, you better shape up or be ready to ship out. Neither the new sheriff or the community at large will tolerate this mess in the future. It has no place in a law enforcement agency.

Don't believe that the long list of retired deputies in the tribune lately all vigorously support Riley. Many are sitting on the fence. Most just couldn't say no to a request from Robert Canaday out of respect and appreciation for their jobs. The ones that actually do support Riley do so because they thrived under his good ole boy system.

He's sent numerous k9s to my house,broke into my cars and stole my wife's hairbrushes. that's when i realized he was trying to accuse me of drugs because, i caught his buddy mark s. fappin on my fence to my naked wife and my teenage daughter before that. that statement there may give me away.
I have film and other evidence because, these morons didn't see the cameras that were trained on them for years.
The only reason i don't sue is i feel as long as i have evidence they won't hurt me. If I sue,cost them prison and jobs they may kill me.
