Charlotte's Crime 'Is' Cabarrus County's Crime

If you believe for one second that by re-electing Sheriff D. Brad Riley to another term as Cabarrus County sheriff that you receive immunity for Charlotte’s crime, then think again. Much of Charlotte’s crime originates right here in our ‘protected’ county. This weekend two of Cabarrus County’s homegrown murdered a Charlotte man, their so called drug dealer, to support their heroin addiction, as reported by the Charlotte Observer. Cabarrus County, and especially Harrisburg, should feel lucky that his brutal crime didn’t occur in their neighborhoods. Jonathan Fitzgerald, 18, and Danielle Holmes, 17, were known to the Cabarrus Sheriff’s Office. This being the case, what is Sheriff Riley doing to protect Cabarrus County from drug runners who funnel heroin into our area? We very rarely see information of drug arrests in Cabarrus County. What is being done? In this case it took the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department to clean up this mess, making the arrests in Cabarrus County. Sheriff Riley is quoted in the Independent Tribune as saying, “Our officers heavily assisted in the arrests,” Riley said. It was literally the very least he could do. Although Sheriff Riley does give a shout out to his brave officers, he is clearly acknowledging that it took Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department to rid Cabarrus County of these young murderers. My point is this. Sheriff Riley tries repeatedly to imply that by not re-electing him that we are inviting Charlotte’s problems to Cabarrus County. Too late! This is not the Cabarrus County of 1958 to 1982. It is not even the same Cabarrus County as 10 years ago. Cabarrus County has big league problems and needs a big league hitter. We need someone who has fought the big league fights and can readily identify and combat these problems. This is the time to change the course of fate for Cabarrus County. The problems of drugs, gangs, theft, and murder are here. They have been for quite a while. Let’s bring in a man that has the experience to fix this mess.

  1. Fitzgerald was awaiting trial for numerous drug charges in this county, numbnuts. Check your sources before you slam Riley and his deputies. Maybe you should be writing a blog on the DA's office or the court system for not holding this knucklehead. What a stupid comment from this so- called "Sharon Wentworth." Get your facts straight before you post something next time.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Perhaps you should read again. I totally agree with the posting. Point being, David Graham will not bring Charlotte problems. Riley slams Graham every chance he gets associating CMPD with Graham's experience. Graham will be the solution, not the problem. Riley needs to wake up or move out of the way.

  3. Aren't u really Rick Starnes posing as Sharon Wentworth? Sources of your FaceBook friends confirmed it. Shouldn't you get therapy or a real job instead of continuing this slander?
It's getting old and anyone with real integrity would not read or believe this filth you write - they would investigate on their own. Hope you get some help soon buddy... you and that Justice for Bella guy who hasn't had a job in who knows how long and has had so many DWI's he can't ever drive a car again - taking peoples money for his cause so he doesn't have to work. Very sad. I'll keep you in my prayers Mr. Sharon.

  4. Sounds like Ms. Wentworth is hitting a nerve. Cry me a river. Ha.

  5. So typical. When law enforcement officers get frustrated and can't punch or kick they threaten and name call. We should remind these keepers of peace, 'sticks and stones...'. This may be over the head of our young bucks. Maybe they will relate to this one. 'Nana nana boo boo, stick your head in doo doo.'

  6. I agree it probably is Starnes, or perhaps Clyde Furr... Still crying about his job, what a loser... I saw photos of Furr kissing Graham's ass at the FOP in Charlotte.. Very sickening you ass-clown. And this justice for bella he is a ass clown as well, trying to pad his pockets with money, should have obeyed the leash laws in this county moron. And Wentworth, how in the hell can you say Graham will not bring Charlotte's problems here, that has to be the most dumb statement that has been posted on this site yet.

  9. Look people, focus on the issue raised by the posting. Will David Graham bring Charlotte problems to Cabarrus County as Mr. Riley suggests?

The crime from Charlotte is spilling in to Cabarrus County. I do not think one can argue against that point. With the expansion of I-85 and the opening of I-485, it has become increasingly easier for criminals to come to our county and victimize our citizens. This is reality. The problems of Charlotte are already here, and David Graham did not bring them.

The real issue is who will be more able/capable to combat these existing problems.

Unfortunately, this is not the Cabarrus County of 10, 15 or 20 years ago. I wish it was; however, we can not continue to act as though it is.

David Graham simply has the education, experience and training to better "arm" our Sheriff's Department against this threat. We need someone who can anticipate what will happen with our crime problems as we experience growth. We need David Graham.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Hell, I can anticipate crime coming to the area, so maybe I can run for sheriff.. How much more can the department be armed. I wish it was still Cabarrus County 15 years ago as well. Why are we not focusing on the court system or DA's office, these are the one's letting the criminals back out on the street. It's not Brad's fault, nor would it be Graham's fault if he were to get voted into office. The law enforcement in this county should not be blasted on because the court system can't do their jobs... Look at the big picture!!

What we should be doing is working to get Roxannne out of office, because it does not matter who the sheriff is in the county. If the court system does not work you will be talking about Graham in 4 years if he gets voted in as sheriff.

So in conclusion it does not really matter who gets voted into office, if the system does not fulfill it's sworn duty...

    ReplyDelete
  11. Be careful what you are saying, you are talking about Brad's Roxann. No shit. She is a major problem but this sorry county continues to vote his red headed buddy in. What to do? The good DA's run off to indepedent or other jobs, such as aspiring DA's of other counties, of assistance da's at others. This causes a total weighing down of the system because neither Roxann or the newbees knows what the hell is going on. But none of the matters in election years. Roxann supports the democatic sheriff and the domocratic sheriff supports the republican DA. All the while we have stagnic judges cathering to the wishes of law enforcement and the DA's. Plea this and drop that. It is all about numbers. Get this shit off my desk. But, be sure to bring me my paycheck. Yes, the deputies are the heros. I guarantee Sharon Wentworth would feel the same, otherwise delete this comment. The problem is the whole damn system. Sheriff, DA and Judges. This county is a shining example of America lost.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Didn't Roxann have opposition in the primary? How did that work out? We can't fix that problem for another 4 years. For now, we can only fix the problem in the sheriff's office. We have to start somewhere. Vote David Graham!

    ReplyDelete
  13. If Graham was Sheriff, Roxann would actually have to do her job, and the Sheriff would actually be doing his job.

Ric Starnes and Clyde Furr are not capable of writing the articles on this blog. Get real. Why would Ricky Starnes start a blog against the Sheriff who is great friends with Roxann, who is great friends with Starnes. Its all part of the good old boy system, and not to many individuals are not part of it. Seems like Graham is somewhat out there on his own. I do not see the system changing anything in the next decade.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Roxann did have competition, and he would have destroyed her in a debate. But Roxann used her cushioned well oiled political machine to win. Very similar to Graham and Riley. Graham is obviously the way to go, but is up against a MASSIVE, CORRUPT political machine, with both the republicans and democrats back scratching one another.

Somehow he was able to get loose from the Deputies grip, and then the Deputy jumped the man from behind. The the reminder of the Deputy came and jump on. It was like a dog pile. The man fell and busted his face wide open on the chair. Meanwhile, Judge Royster called the man up to the bench and did NOT hold him in contempt. POLICE BRUTALITY is all I can say. This is how Brad Riley trains his deputies. VOTE DAVID GRAHAM, come November. ReplyDelete
  29. The officers do a lot for Sheriff Riley!!! That is how we get ahead at the office! The more crap we do for him the better we look, the more he likes us and the better chance we have at going somewhere in the department!!!!

So far we have sold ice at the race, and sold donuts for the "department". I hope I get to see that money used for me and the rest of the deputies and not "photo shoots" and "political advertising"

    ReplyDelete
  30. We know this but the sad truth is the citizens of this county don't care. Keep working for the pharoah and mashing your straw.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Agree, the citizens could careless. Until Riley actually gets popped for the things he has done, which will be awhile from now since Roxann is the D.A. things will go on. But in the meantime we can make his life dificult. like he has done to many of us.

And good luck contacting Sheriff Riley. What a joke!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. To all the Deputies that read this. You need to get the word out that David Graham will never have you campaign, or do anything related to politics for him. It does not matter your party affiliation or your ranking in the department. You will NEVER have to do the things that Riley currently makes us do. We will get our July 4ths back, and will never have to do on-duty or off-duty work for Brad Riley's Campaign again.

Sheriff Riley coerces us into doing this and we do not have to anymore.

  35. Oh I forgot, Sheriff Riley doesn't need the help of justice for bella to defeat Mr. Graham so Graham will find out that jfb will only hurt him, but who cares anyways because we are KEEPING SHERIFF RILEY 2010!!!!!!!!!!!!!!When it's done in November, all of you jfb, graham supporters and negative naysayers can go back to crawling under the rock you came from. Let's do it Sheriff Riley and continue to get this county on the right track without a guy from charlotte and especially some animal activist group who talk a good game but is doing nothing to help the cause. They arent spending any money or adopting any animals, therefore they are going to coninue to support Daniels and his family through donations so they don't have to pay taxes and be bums!!!!Our leader will prevail!!!

  38. Hey Lt. Carl Gadd, deserving recipient of the Pugh award. Yeah right! Better addressed as goofy “Billboard Boy”. Since pocketing this humanitarian $500.00 dollars, how about getting off our backs for $20.00. Instead of us spending our family needed money, put this $500.00 into the billboard pot and leave us the f--- alone. P.S. No one respects you!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Congradulations to Lt Gadd on getting the Hugh Award for outstanding service. He hasn’t done much with investigations this year but has been hard at work for the sheriffs campaign. You would not believe how much time he spends campaigning for the sheriff on duty instead of working on investigations but he screws most of them up. Carl, how has it gone going around on duty coercing all of us to give money to the sheriff? Are you going to be able to get that billboard. Then, maybe those captain bars? I will be so glad when this election is over!

  41. Just the opposite too many of us know too much. Seen and heard too much. And the closer we get...

    ReplyDelete
  42. Riley is so negative about the Bella group because he has had 10 years to address the problems at Animal Control and he has ignored all of the problems. He even said in May in the Independent Tribune that I don’t think Animal Control needs to be reformed. He has had a chance to address all the problems since May when all these problems started going public and did not. The sheriff knows the animal activists have influence and is constantly putting them down because they are exposing him for what he is. Graham may not win, but after the election, these problems are not going away just because of that. Check into Robson County and what happened there when they ignored the problems with their animal control agency.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I don't Riley has anything against animal activists, I think its that Daniels guy because he was given 50k to do something with it and all he is doing is spending it on his family and the tax payers are paying for him to not work. He had no job going into this and really won't work now. Why doesnt he start up a shelter and staff it for adoption? Because he don't want to spend any of his donated money. Instead he continues to ask for donations for that hideous billboard on 29 and since he is supporting Graham, has he given any money to Graham for support? No, just living the life as a scam here in North Carolina like he did in West Virginia until he got ran out. Open your eyes, Riley is the best choice and if it takes him this long to get the animal control problem right, then so be it. Graham won't do anything more than what Riley is doing. They are politicians!!!!You know this county is better with their won homegrown son!KEEP SHERIFF RILEY 2010!!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. All dictators were homegrown. What does Daniels have to do with Riley being a better choice? That doesn't even make sense. Riley and Graham need a televised debate. The Tribune can arrange it but won't because they back Riley and his wanting to hide. KEEP RILEY'S PECKER IN HIS PANTS 2010!

    ReplyDelete
  45. It has alot to do with it jackass! We are going to support Brad Riley and this county, not someone who is from somewhere else. If you are from somewhere else and have moved here, go back to where you came from if you don't support Sheriff Riley otherwise, get a life. KEEP SHERIFF RILEY 2010 AND BEYOND!!!

  46. Brad Riley must be proud! What a bunch of backward ass country f---s! I feel so safe.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Are the Riley supporters proud that our Sheriff has an arrest record, and an affair with a much younger female under his belt? His is own family proud of that? Does not seem to be a very christian fellow, one that commits adultery that is.....

He works 30 hrs a week and is paid salary. He takes an ample amount of vacation but yet takes them away from his deputies? If you are a current Deputy and support your boss then you are a F**k*** moron, or a skilled ass kisser.

Just because Riley is from Cabarrus and was handed the job does not make him suitable for the job.

Sheriff Riley in Prison by the End of 2010!!!!!!

  48. SHERIFF RILEY 2010!!! Alleged accusations again, with NO proof!!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. What proof do you want? Ask for it...I am so sick of this ignorance. Tell me what proof you want first. Do you want the party pictures or the proof that Riley had an affair? Which do you want first. I promise, just tell me which one. I will deliver.

  50. Everything you have smart guy. Pictures, recordings, anything against him instead of all of your BS talk every 4 years. You have talked but have not shown anything at all!!! And that's why we are KEEPING SHERIFF RILEY 2010!!

    ReplyDelete
  51. It sounds like Riley supporters have no use for anyone who was not born in this county. If you were not born here go home-that's the message. Well being someone who has live here for more than 10 years, I am offended and will get the word out how he feels about the new growth, businesses, jobs that many of us have brought to this county. The bottom line is so many of us are not part of this so called good ole boy system. We don’t really know who the sheriff is, but are quickly learning. Us new people who don’t belong and should go home are watering down your good ole boy system and might have a real impact on “born here, serve here”. That’s exactly what the problem is. This county needs to clean house on all sitting politicians and get new blood in. New ideas CLEAN HOUSE. SEND THEM ALL HOME in 2010!! -- including Washington and Raleigh.

  52. We will see in November! KEEP SHERIFF RILEY 2010!!!BORN HERE, SERVES HERE!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Sheriff Riley is the ignorant one on here. The fact that both him and his wife post on here is pathetic. Riley is lowlife and the fact that his wife stays by his side is mind blowing????

Animal Control made another HUGE mistake. It is almost like they are doing things the wrong way out of spite, to show that they can get away with anything and nothing can be done to change it. JFB has become a HUGE pain in Sheriff Riley's life. And people claim that Daniels is extorting money...Where is the evidence? Seems like you all want evidence about the shady things that Riley does...well i want evidence that daniels is up to shady activity....Seems only fair to me

I have noticed that Sheriff Riley's opponent seems to be more concerned about the department and what needs to be fixed/changed than the current Sheriff.

Sheriff Riley, a corrupt republican and the democrat ticket...OBAMA AND RILEY 2010!!!......

  64. Under current North Carolina law, a convicted felon can run for and be elected to the office of sheriff. This Spring several convicted felons ran for office, but fortunately none were elected. So yes he could have gotten the job anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Your point is....... He was a deputy before he was a sheriff. Thank goodness he and 99 other sheriff's fought that battle so that convicted felons can not run for sheriff. GOOD JOB SHERIFF!!!

  67. How about explaining the circumstances of the assault and an official statement about the affair with the young lady. Did he or did he not cheat on his wife? Yes or no answer, fairly simple. Let's put both to rest. I'm tired of hearing about both of them.

  68. I know Brad well. It is in his best interest to remain quiet and say no comment. Otherwise, he would have a press conference.

    ReplyDelete
  69. This is out dated shit again!! You talk about the assault 100 years ago that was dropped and also about sleeping with the town slut which again no proof or validity is provided just like 4 years ago when this was brought up!! 72. Deputies being forced to work for the Sheriff's campaign? What a joke. I happen to be one of the CIVILIANS that has worked for the Sheriff the past 4 years selling ice. As a matter of fact there has been no deputies involved for the past few years. I do everything I can to help Brad because he is a good man that I have always looked up to, and he does an excellent job running the Sheriff's Office. The majority of the negative comments being made on here are from former deputies who were FIRED for SCREWING UP and or NOT DOING THEIR JOBS. So naturally they have plenty of time to lurk around on here and dream up negative lies about the Sheriff. Anyone that has actually met Brad knows the kind of person he is, and understands why we are KEEPING BRAD RILEY SHERIFF in 2010, and for many more years.

    ReplyDelete
  73. ^you were raising money for his campaign, and there were many deputies out there helping. I bought ice, and I took pictures of it happening....80% of this department is ready for a change....20% enjoy the perks of ass kissing like the person that commented above

  76. Well unfortunately there are no perks for me, I am not affiliated with the Sheriff's Office, and I dont need you to tell me what I was doing, I am fully aware that I was raising money for the Sheriff's campaign. And like I said, it was all civilians working at the speedway selling ice, only 5 of us worked last year. and that has been the case for the past several years. You obviously don't have a clue what youre talking about, and if you do in fact have pictures I would love to see them, because I am sure there are no deputies in them. But I know I'll never see them because they don't exist. The only people ready for a change are those who are mad because they did something stupid and got fired for it, its that simple.
